In the packet of Silent but Violent, there are many showings that this story is a satire. It is a Satire because in the story, the boy is trying to be serious by taking a girl on the date but the girl turns out to be the one who messes it up when it was least expected. In the story, the author uses onomatopoeia when he says " SQUEEZE " to describe the noise he makes when farting. When the author says " I blaze through red lights and stop signs " he uses a metaphor. When the author says " Oh, its strong and refried stinky " he used an hyperbole because it was an overstatement when he include " refried stinky "
In the article High School Students Demand Wars In Easier-To-Find Big Countries this was another example of a satire because it was showing how students don't know much about other nations in a funny, sarcastic way. When they said " Back then they only had wars in, like, Germany and England " it was an example of a hyperbole because it showed an overstatement. When he said " Can't we fight in, like, Italy ? Its boat shaped. " It was an example of a simile because he used "like" within his statement.
